Aug. 27 (Bloomberg) -- The raw-sugar premium on shipments from Thailand, the second-largest exporter, advanced as most supplies have been sold ahead of the next harvest, according to Green Pool Commodity Specialists Pty Ltd. Raw sugar from Thailand is trading 2.5 cents to 2.7 cents a pound above the price on ICE Futures U.S., the Brisbane-based researcher said in a weekly report today. The premium increased 1 cent over the week, according to the report. “There’s little sugar left for sale,” Tom McNeill, a director at Green Pool, said by phone. Lots of sugar has been pre-sold, and lots of raw sugar has been converted into white sugar, he said. Raw sugar for October delivery ended little changed at 19.58 cents a pound on Aug. 24. Most-active prices fell 3 percent last week, dropping for the fifth consecutive week.
